As part of the operational development of the site of the former barracks, the Urban Development Corporation plans to set up shared services designed to meet the needs of new residents, the university community, users of Usquare, but also current residents of the neighbouring districts.
This includes the creation of a large food hall dedicated to sustainable and local food which will take place in the remarkable former covered merry-go-round. This component of Usquare receives funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Some ground floors and other buildings will also house other services that meet the needs of the neighbourhood. These will include auditoriums, a cultural centre, a neighbourhood cinema, local shops and spaces for the activation of public space
The whole will contribute to the openness, animation and diversity of Usquare.
