Le Bookclub spécial "Arpentage écologique" : Tendre vers la sobriété numérique by Frédéric Bodge

Historically used in the anarchist workers' circles of the 19th century, surveying is a method of collective reading of a work, with a view to its critical appropriation, to nourish the articulation between practice and theory.

It is a method that aims to de-elitize knowledge, to (re)-appropriate knowledge while sharing the ideas and experiences of the group. The reading is singular in that it will remain partial because each member of the group will have read only a part of the book (during the workshop at least).

How does an activity go?

Daniel from the Ligue des familles comes with a dozen copies of the chosen book on loan to the participants. Each participant is given a few pages or a chapter of the book to read, and then the author's thoughts are synthesized and augmented by the participants' reflections, knowledge and life experiences. Depending on the book, a surveying workshop takes place in 1 or 2 sessions of 2h30.

The workshops are open to all and free of charge.

The chosen book: Tendre vers la sobriété numérique (Moving towards digital sobriety) by Frédéric Bodge looks at the carbon footprint of our digital uses and how to reduce it. He also gives tips on how to deal with the risks of overwork and addiction.
